EPIQ CONSTRUCTION WINS . . .

Until several years ago, the Kearsarge, a 120-year-old barge-turned-restaurant, was moored on Lake Erie abandoned and forgotten. Then Epiq Construction Services, Inc. was hired as lead contractor to bring it back to life.
For that effort, the Northern Ohio Chapter of NAIOP, the commercial real estate development association, awarded Epiq its 2014 Award of Excellence. Given to the “best and brightest in the local commercial real estate community,” it was in recognition of Epiq’s transforming the vessel into The No. 225 Barge, a strikingly innovative “floating” office for lakefront tenants LeanDog Software and Arras Keathley Advertising.
Conducted in two phases, the $1.5 million project renovated existing space and, later, added a new office and a rooftop deck.
